Fenerbahce beat Unics in Kazan 81-86 and took revenge for the latter’s Round 5 road win in Istanbul (73-81). Zeljko Obradovic‘s team improved to 12-7 in the standings, while Evgeny Pashutin’s team fell to 7-12.

Led by Luigi Datome‘s 18 points and 4 rebounds, as well as Bogdan Bogdanovic’s 16 points and 7 assists, the Turkish team managed a narrow yet important win for its consistency in the standings.

Vesely (15 points) took charge for Fenerbahce in the first period, scoring 11 of his team’s 22 points overall, while Unics followed with 15 after the first 10 minutes.

The visitors made it a 10-point game at 14′, 20-30, yet Unics managed to cover the deficit and Artsiom Parakhouski (21 points, 9 rebounds) tied the game at 32 points. With a free throw by Langford (11 points), the Russian team even got a one-point lead, but Fenerbahce still managed to lead 34-39 at halftime.

In the third period, Kostas Sloukas (12 points, 6 assists) expanded his team’s lead to 13 points at 26′, then Parakhouski dropped the game to 8 points. Early in the final period, the Belarusian center as well as Johnson stood out and brough Unics even closer to the visiting team, then Coty Clarke made it a 3-point game, 76-79. Fenerbahce was scoreless in the final 2 minutes of the game, when Langford buried a long distance shot, yet Duverioglu hit two free throws and sealed the victory for his team with 36” remaining.
