Sony Weeems refused to take a FIBA sanctioned drug test and failed to show up to Maccabi Tel Aviv‘s practice, according to Israeli media.

The situation between the 30-year-old American and the team is now intense and it wouldn’t be a surprise if the club decides to part ways with the player. A ban from FIBA is possible for his refusal to show up and if that’s the case, then Weems is destined to leave Maccabi.

Meanwhile, his teammates Victor Rudd and Gal Mekel were also called by FIBA and both took the test.

Weems joined Maccabi last summer and currently averages 11.6 points and 3.3 rebounds in 19 Euroleague games.
