Crvena Zvezda has completed its January with an impeccable 5 – o winning streak in EuroLeague and it’s small wonder that Ognjen Kuzmic, the team’s top performer in these games, won MVP of the Month honors.
The Serbian center averaged 11.6 points, 8 rebounds and 1 assist per game in January which produced 17.8 in PIR. Thanks to his performances, Crvena Zvezda expanded the run of victories it carried from 2016 to 7 – 0 and climbed to the fifth place of the standings.
In the five games that took place in January, Red Star defeated Maccabi Tel Aviv, Fenerbahce and Panathinaikos at home while blasting Zalgiris Kaunas and Baskonia on the road. Now the Serbian club is solidifying its place in the playoffs zone, being without a doubt the pleasant surprise of the competition so far.
