During the post-game press conference, Ataman had described a shooting foul which Lamonica called near the end of the third quarter and sent Mike James to the line for three free-throws as a “fitting, nonsense call”.
Today, the head coach of Galatasaray… “slammed” the Italian referee on Twitter, while tagging the official EuroLeague account and including a video of the play in question in his message. Ataman wrote in Italian: “Luigi Lamonica, amazing decision. 12 thousand people came to see basketball, not bulls…t. Stop that”.
