Panathinaikos (18-11) outlasted the battle against CSKA Moscow (21-8) in Athens and prevailed 85-80 in overtime!

The hosts seemed to have the upper hand of the game early on, though both teams were energetic and there was a tie in the score before Mike James made it 20-17 in the hosts’ favor at the end of the first quarter.

CSKA, that had committed six turnovers in the first period, improved its defense in the second and even made a 5-0 run, though the hosts still managed to stay up 45-40 at halftime.

The pressure was on CSKA this time that began the second half better, with Teodosic pushing the hosts to lead by one, then the Greens regained the lead by the end of the third period with 58-55.

Panathinaikos pushed hard in the remainder of the game and even managed to keep the fate of the game on their hands with less than 2 minutes left in the game. With 36 seconds to go, Teodosic hit a three to place the Russians ahead 71-73. Calathes evened to 73 points and sent the game to overtime!
