Despite an easy win over Anadolu Efes, Olympiacos’ coach Giannis Sfairopoulos tried to keep his team grounded, speaking about the rest of the series.

As he said in the press conference – you can see the full video here – the point now for his team is to continue to play like this: “It was very important to play good defense and dominate the first period. We did this, we controlled the tempo and that had to do with our defensive effort. We were also good at offense, we had five players in double digits and everyone who stepped on the court really helped us win. Unfortunately we didn’t have minutes for Patrick Young, but I spoke to him and he is ready for the next game. It was a tactical decision not to use him and I took it. This is just Game 1, we have to stay humble and focused”.

And there’s a good reason to believe that Olympiacos will stay focused, as Sfairopoulos explained: “We have players who are many years in the team and they are experienced. They know that it’s going to be a long series. Those players will keep the rest of the team ready. I repeat, we got just a 1-0 lead and after one game you can’t qualify to the Final Four”.
