With a power-display by Marcelinho Huertas and an impressive performance overall, Baskonia defeated Hapoel Jerusalem.

Marcelinho Huertas scored 20 points and dished out 10 assists as Baskonia crushed Hapoel Jerusalem 97 – 75 and won the Alava-Araba trophy.

However, this was a pyrrhic victory for the Basques that saw Tornike Shengelia leaving the game early, with a sprained ankle.

Hapoel Jerusalem had a roster of 9 men strong and didn’t manage to stay competitive with the final stretch of the match approaching, getting outscored 28 – 15 in the fourth quarter.

Curtis Jerrells scored 18 points, Jerome Dyson 16 and Austin Daye 14 for the Israelis. Rich Howell pitched in 12.

From Baskonia‘s side, Janis Timma added 16 points plus 5 rebounds, Vincent Poirier 14 points and Jayson Granger 12.
