Obradovic praised the opposing side and made his criticism about the outcome: “It was a game that we expected. Unicaja is a very disciplined team, playing great defense, with full-court pressing and everybody was going for the rebound. They got 16 rebounds, so this stat means that they shot 16 extras shots. We got only four offensive rebounds. That’s a huge difference and it was impossible to win the game.”
Unicaja‘s contagious energy all over the floor turned out to be one of the keys to their victory: “I want to congratulate them, they played hard with a lot of energy. They had great motivation and that’s what I said with my players before the game, at halftime”.
Being the defending champions is a tough job, and Obradovic knows it: “If we want to be ready, we have to forget about last season and play with the same motivation.”
