Olympiacos got away with a tight win over Maccabi, as the fate of the game was sealed in the last moments of the game.

Olympiacos prevailed over Maccabi Tel Aviv with 69-68 on the road and remains undefeated in the competition. The Israeli side fell to a 2-1 record.

The star: Giorgos Printezis led the Greek side with a 21-point performance, while also adding two rebounds.

A balanced start between the two teams, with Norris Cole (2o pts) and Jamel McLean (8 pts) pacing the two sides to 18-18 at 10′. No team could take the initiative five minutes into the second period, though the visiting side grabbed a small 29-26 at 16′ which they slightly expanded to 35-33 at halftime.

Entering the second half, Maccabi‘s pressure to their visitors was more intense, yet the slow-paced rhythm of the game didn’t allow any of the two sides get in front. Cole tied the score again at 39 (25’).

Τowards the end of the third period, Printezis helped Olympiacos grab its biggest lead of the game and stay up by 6 at 30′, 51-45. Soon enough, the hosts reacted and with a partial 9-5 score approached to 2 points again.

The turning point: Two shots by Printezis gave a breather to Olympiacos, who stayed up 67-61 at 37′. Even when Cole pushed Maccabi with 30 seconds left, the Greek team kept its composure and got away with the win.
