CSKA‘s game against Panathinaikos turned out to be one-sided as the Russian team easily defeated the Greek side. Coach Pascual and coach Itoudis had some words to say about their team and the incident between Nando De Colo and James Gist.

Coach Itoudis commented on the game and his team’s differences from last week.

“Congratulations to my team. Our mindset was different today than last week. Our defense was great tonight, our fans were enthusiastic they saw the team fighting and we got the win. We had the wrong attitude in Madrid and did not make shots, today it was different. We have to stay together and stay healthy. We are a new team and today we were forced to play without De Colo who is a great player. We managed to take out a great player and creator in Calathes and the team is happy about the win.”

The Greek coach was also asked about Othello Hunter that he obviously do not like him, and Itoudis reacted by saying: Who says I don’t like Othello Hunter. This is not true, I think he is a really important player for us.”

Coach Xavi Pascual also had some things to say about the game and the Gist-De Colo incident.

“First of all congratulations to CSKA. It is clear that the home team was better. We did not start the game as we wanted to, 7 turnovers in the first quarter is an unacceptable stat, but it was really difficult to come back against CSKA in Russia. We have to prepare for our next game in Athens against Fenerbahce

Finally, he was asked about the double ejection: “I did not see the incident. After the foul happened, I called a time-out and I did not see what happened. These things happen on the court, it is nothing more. Both players are great players and characters.”
