Following Kim Tillie’s injury, Olympiacos has found the necessary reinforcement in the face of Kyle Wiltjer, as the club announced that the two sides have reached a one-year deal.

The 25-year-old power forward who spent the previous season at Rio Grande Valley Vipers on loan from Houston Rockets is officially the new member of Olympiacos.

Kyle Wiltjer‘s father, Greg Wiltjer has played in Greece for Aris BC during the late 80s. His son was also offered to Baskonia during the summer.

ESPN’s NBA draft expert, Jonathan Givony, commented on the EuroLeague rookie for Eurohoops:

“Wiltjer is a huge offensive weapon who should be able to transition his game to European basketball fairly quickly. He has a great feel for the game and is capable of scoring with his back to the basket as well as with his jump-shot. Offensively, he’s a perfect modern day power forward. The challenges will come on the defensive end, where he really struggles at times. But I’m sure Olympiacos knows that well and has a plan for how to pair him with the right teammates that can compensate for his weaknesses there.”
