Baskonia recorded their thrid straight victory in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague after beating Zvezda on the road. It wasn’t easy for Spaniards but they were able to espace Belgrade with a victory.
“It’s always important to win on the road. We played a good game, I could say a great game in the first half. The second half was different as we made a lot of turnovers in the second half. Zvezda’s defense was better in the second half. and we just stopped running. We won an important game on the road and I am happy about it. We made big shots when the game was on the line that’s why we won it”, said Pedro Martinez to the press after the game.
After a solid 2-2 start of the season Zvezda sink to a 2-7 record as they suffered their fifth straight loss.
“We played much better in the second half, but it was not enough tonight. Baskonia have experience squad and they punish every mistake you make. We are a young team and we have to learn from our mistakes.” said coach Dusan Alimpijevic after another loss.
