Zalgiris Kaunas prevailed over Fenerbahce Dogus Istanbul in Day 12 of Turkish Airlines EuroLeague with 90-89.

The winners moved up to a 7-5 record, as Fener fell to 8-4.

Τhe key: Arturas Milaknis came in with a huge three-pointer with 5 seconds on the shotclock, Sloukas answered with one of his one, yet there wasn’t enough time to change the fate of the game.

In the opening period of the game, the visiting side found score with Toupane and Jankunas, yet Fener got ahead with a 24-16 lead after 10 minutes.

A quick 7-2 run paced Zalgiris back in the second period, then Marko Guduric hit a long-range shot to keep the hosts one step ahead (29-23, 12′). Still, the Lithuanian side’s pressure didn’t allow Fener to grab a comfortable lead, as the teams went to the lockers with the score at 42-41 after 20 minutes.

Brandon Davies tied the score to 47 points at 22′, then one more tied followed a few minutes later, while Zalgiris got ahead with 58-55 at 28′. Wanamaker checked himself in with a clutch shot at the end of the third period, placing the hosts ahead 64-63.

Midway through the final period, the visitors grabbed a 4-point lead, yet the game was on once again with Nunnally tying the score to 75-75.

The star: Kevin Pangos shined with 22 points and 7 assists, pacing the Lithuanians to this important victory

Not enough: Jan Vesely tapped 20 points, Brad Wanamaker followed with 19, but the two weren’t able to save the Turkish side tonight.
