Maccabi Tel Aviv suffered a heavy loss to Olympiacos for EuroLeague Round 18, the team’s 9th in the regular season.

While defense wasn’t exactly the Yellows’ forte tonight, particularly in the first half when they allowed 53 points out of a total number of 94 (second-worst defensive performance in the season), Maccabi guard Norris Cole believes that even when he and his teammates managed to pull stops, their opponents found the way to the basket via other paths.

“When we did defend, they got free throws,” Cole told Eurohoops after the game.

The two-time NBA champion also said the following to Eurohoops:

“I don’t want to comment on the officiating. It’s not my job. But I know they shot more free throws than they normally shoot. Obviously, it could be better, our defense. We have to do a better job and follow our game plan. Be disciplined. But it’s tough to get into rhythm when a team is shooting 20 plus free throws in the first half. It’s tough to play like that.”
