Sito Alonso seemed very happy after Barcelona’s win over Brose Bamberg. They will continue fighting for EuroLeague playoffs and the head coach has hope:
“I believe in my team and it doesn’t depend on how things are going. I want positive people on my team, who fight and don’t look for excuses. If we believe in the things that we are doing, we must confuse the teams that are in playoffs spots. Maccabi for example. We must believe“.
Alonso also talked about the game: “We played great for 30 minutes but without scoring. They realized that they had an opportunity. We lost control in the defensive balance but the feeling that the team gave with Bamberg one point down was the best.We used to lose those kinds of games because of our mentality but we won today and I’m very happy”.
Ilias Kantzouris was in charge of Bamberg today:
“We knew that this was a high-pressure game for Barcelona. We played good basketball. We were down by 1 with 5 minutes left but we lost concentration, made some turnovers and we allowed easy baskets. We committed mistakes and we paid the price“.
