Barcelona head coach Sito Alonso confirmed the club’s interest for Edwin Jackson and also commented that while the French guard is indeed an option, he might not be the most optimal his team can find.
“In addition to the name “Jackson”, I could tell you ten names that we have talked with. Guards and big guys. When you try to incorporate a player, the best thing is going with someone whose adaptation will be as fast as possible and Jackson is a well-known player who has been in the league, who has been in the club and on the club’s agenda for quite some time. I can’t deny that he is a possibility but there are others as good or even better than he is,” Alonso said per Mundo Deportivo.
The “Blaugrana” are 7 – 12 in EuroLeague and are facing defending champion Fenerbahce, Friday (26/1), in Istanbul. They are desperately searching for a victory that will preserve their mathematical chances of advancing to the playoffs.
