CSKA Moscow picked up the easy 81-72 win over Brose Bamberg as De Colo finished the game with 13/13 free throws on the way to 20 easy points.
The 30-year old guard had 14 points in just the first half and never stopped until the end, proving that he remains the top scoring option for the “Army Team” no matter what. De Colo went to the free throws line eleven times during the first 20 minutes of action, as CSKA closed the second period with a double-digit lead (34-23).
Such a performance is not a surprise since De Colo is leading the league in free throw shooting percentage, entering the game with a 95.59% efficiency from the charity line. The former MVP is a great shooter and proved it οnce more emphatically.
The Germans stayed close. they were trailing by six points at the end of the third period, but Corry Higgins’ deep three-pointer ended the period a nine-point difference (55-46).
With a 9-2 run in the first minutes of the final period, CSKA went up ahead by 16 points; marking their largest lead of the game, which started approximately 15 minutes late due to technical difficulties.
Higgins added 12 for the winners and Sergio Rodriguez scored 13 points. Dorell Wright with 11 points and 7 rebounds was the top scorer of Bamberg. however, the point for the German champs remains that their playoffs chances are more than slim.
