Following the completion of his short-term contract with Valencia Basket, Damjan Rudez gave an interview to Encestando where, among other things, he talked about how disappointed he is with Chechu Mulero, GM of the Spanish club:

I need minutes, not just five. I want to play more“. Rudez said when asked about playing for another ACB club. “I want to show that I can help any team despite what Chechu (Mulero) has said about me, which isn’t true“.

Mulero spoke badly about me to some ACB teams that wanted to sign me. My intention is to continue in Spain and that’s why it hurts me a lot. I’m very sad and disappointed. I am honest with my club but he hasn’t been with me and I leave Valencia hurt because of him. That makes me want to show that he’s wrong with me. I think that he doesn’t want me to go to another ACB team where I can play well and show that he made a mistake with Rudez. If I don’t play here, I will go to another country but I will show that I can play well and help the team“, the Croatian sharpshooter added.

Rudez played 11 matches for Valencia in EuroLeague where he averaged 3 points and one rebound in 11 minutes per game.
