Who tops the list, what’s the record since the league’s format changed, and what’s the all-time best performance? Eurohoops does the research and gives you the low-down.
November 3, 2005: Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv’s Vujcic gets the first triple-double (11 points, 12 rebounds, 11 assists against Asseco Prokom Gdynia 95-68) in the modern era of the EuroLeague.
November 30, 2006: The same player gets the second triple-double (27 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists against Union Olimpija Ljubljana 110-87).
November 16, 2017: Panathinaikos Superfoods Athens’ Nick Calathes almost gets there (29 points, 9 rebounds, 10 assists at Anadolu Efes Istanbul 81-82).
December 28, 2017: Real Madrid’s Luka Doncic almost gets there too (20 points, 8 rebounds, 10 assists at Fenerbahce Dogus Istanbul 77-79).
January 16, 2018: Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade’s Taylor Rochestie was next (27 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists against Khimki Moscow Region 70-79).
January 25, 2018: Another missed opportunity for Calathes (14 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists against Zalgiris Kaunas 94-93 in overtime).
As long as the next triple-double is still being sought, the list of double-doubles is the only one that keeps getting added to. At the same time, this list shows who the EuroLeague’s Do-It-Alls.
Face Off
In his best season in the EuroLeague, Panathinaikos’s Calathes has evolved into a double-double-producing machine and he leads the race. With six in total, he’s followed closely by Efes’s Vladimir Stimac with five, and then by Khimki’s Thomas Robinson, Panathinaikos’s Chris Singleton and Baskonia Vitoria Gasteiz’s Tornike Shengelia, who have three each.
The list of players with two or more is rounded off by nine players, with many different combinations.
All six of Calathes’s double-doubles are with points and assists, while all five of Stimac’s double-doubles are points and rebounds. The last combination is more common, with nine such combinations on the list of 2 or more double-doubles. CSKA Moscow’s Nando De Colo and Zalgiris’s Kevin Pangos have two each with points and assists and contribute to the diversity of the bunch, but not as much as Madrid’s Doncic, who has divided his own double-doubles between points-rebounds and points-assists.

In two seasons in the EuroLeague with Fenerbahce, Ekpe Udoh had enough time to do everything, with the greatest moment of course being winning the trophy in 2017, in fact, as the MVP of the Final Four and a member of the All-EuroLeague First Team. Among all his accomplishments, there is the one of his double-doubles record, and in the semifinal against Madrid (84-75) he almost made history (18 points, 12 rebounds, 8 assists) by getting a triple-double. His seven double-doubles are the most with the new format that was introduced last season. And yes, they were all points-rebounds, indicative of his domination close to the basket.
The same goes for the MVP of the season in 2010 and EuroLeague Champion in 2016, Milos Teodosic, in the previous season with CSKA, his last with the Russian team. He also has seven double-doubles, also in one combination, in his case points-assists, so to each his own.
With 10 rounds left for the completion of the regular season, Calathes and Stimac are on the way to breaking this record.
