Valencia Basket prevailed over CSKA Moscow in Round 22 of Turkish Airlines EuroLeague with 103-99 and moved up to an 8-14 record. The winning side is just three wins away from the playoff zone and can only hope for the best.

The Army team now falls to 17-5, though still remains on top of the standings.

The surprise element for the Spanish side was 22-year-old Alberto Abalde, who had a full-on performance with 17 points, six assists and four rebounds.

Abalde came in crunch time, as the score was tied to 95 points, to give the hosts a safety net when the game was hanging by a thread, pushing Valencia up 98-95 with 24 seconds to go.

This marks his second-best performance this season (while he also played for a new high of 29 minutes), which was wonderfully complimented by Erick Green’s 19 points.

CSKA travelled to the Spanish city missing Kyle Hines and Othello Hunter, which only made things easier for Dubljevic (who finished with 18 points) inside the paint. Notably, the winning side won the rebound battle as well, since CSKA averaged 33.86 rebounds per game and finished with just 20 in Valencia.
