Add Panathinaikos’ captain Nick Calathes to the vocal supporters of Dimitris Giannakopoulos.

Speaking about the game and the protest during the EuroLeague anthem, Calathes explained: “We are basketball players no matter what happens on and off the court. We’re going to be motivated either way. With what happens with our President and EuroLeague, we obviously support our President. He has made Panathinaikos. Since I’ve been here, six years, their family has made this club, won these championships. Without them and Dimitris we wouldn’t be here. We are all for him and whatever he wants to do”.

So even if Panathinaikos decides to leave the EuroLeague, Calathes is ready: “As players, we are here to play basketball. Like I said we are fully supportive of our owner. He has been through the good times and the bad times here in Greece. He spends his own money on us. I would say to the fans and everyone to be all for him, whatever he does. This club would not be here without him”.
