Brose Bamberg officially announced that the team parted ways with head coach Andrea Trinchieri. Per the club’s announcement assistant Ilias Kantzouris will act as head coach “until further notice.”

The decision of the club came few days following the team’s fourth straight loss in the German League a result that put them out of the playoff zone and dropped them to the 10th spot in the standings. Trinchieri returned to coaching in that game after a one-month absence from he benches due to a shoulder surgery.

Earlier today, Trinchieri tweeted a picture of the five BBL titles he won with the German team, writing: “It has been a good run, much appreciation for whoever made all these a reality, best of luck!”

Trinchieri arrived in Brose Bamberg in summer 2014. He led the team to three German League titles (2015, 2016, 2017), the 2017 German Cup and the 2015 Supercup.
