Bobby Brown played his first game with Olympiacos in the EuroLeague edition of the ‘Greek Clasico’ vs. Panathinaikos. After the match, he talked to Eurohoops, about his debut, the differences between the NBA and Europe, his goals and his mindset on making plays for his teammates as well as himself.

The 33-year old commented on the late game thriller in Athens, and his feelings after the game: “I am excited. We knew what type of game this was going to be. We knew we had to go in and fight against them and the crowd. We were patient, we didn’t panic anytime and we have a deep team. We have guys who love to compete at a high level and love to win. It’s definitely a big win for us, now we get to go home, relax and get ready for the next game.”

He also talked about why he signed with Olympiacos and playing at the side of (also fellow former Houston Rocket) Vasilis Spanoulis: “When I got the call from them, it was a no-brainer to come here. Who doesn’t want to play for one of the best teams in Europe? Always competing on a high level, always going to the final four. I have never been in EuroLeague’s final-four. Back when I was in Siena we fell short in the playoffs. So I knew that this was something I wanted to do, and that’s another big reason why I wanted to sign here. Then, of course, get to play with the best player in Europe (Vasilis Spanoulis). So far it has been great and I’m enjoying it.”

Eurohoops also asked him about his personal goal for the rest of the season: “Just do whatever the team needs from me. Be that ultimate team player, hopefully, win the Greek title and the Euroleague. That’s one of my goals and the team’s goal as well.

Prior to the game, James Harden talked to Eurohoops about Bobby Brown, saying that he will get buckets. Brown, commented on how he can influence the game as he did against Panathinaikos in his 13 minutes: “I am a playmaker. I can make plays for my teammates and I can also score. I’m going to do whatever the team needs and I’m going to let the game come to me. I’m not going to rush, be patient with every game and just play my game.”

Finally, he also stated the differences between the NBA and the EuroLeague. “Definitely different. The crowds in the NBA are not like this. This is one thing European basketball has over the NBA: the fans. They are very passionate, love the sport. The NBA is not that hostile, fans are not that involved in NBA games.”

When asked about his cooperation with Spanoulis, Brown told Novasports TV: “I know that Olympiacos is his (Spanoulis) team. I want to be his… Robin.”
