Problems for Panathinaikos ahead of the game against Unicaja Malaga.

By Eurohoops Team/ info@eurohoops.net

Panathinaikos travels to Malaga on Thursday (15/3) for a key EuroLeague game against Unicaja and so far it’s quite uncertain that the team will be at full strength.

As the Greek club announced, forward/center James Gist, swingman Matt Lojeski and Nikos Pappas didn’t practice with the rest of the team today. Lojeski (pulled muscle) and Pappas (muscle sprain) trained individually while Gist (muscle spasm) underwent therapy.

The three players’ participation in the game vs. the Andalusian side will be decided to tomorrow after morning practice and just before the squad departs for Spain.

Panathinaikos is seventh in the EuroLeague standings with a 14 – 11 record and hasn’t secured a playoff spot yet. Meanwhile, Unicaja Malaga is 10th with 10 – 15 and the game vs. the Greens is a must-win in order for the team to stay alive in the postseason race.
