With 11 seconds remaining and the score tied in the game between Fenerbahce and CSKA Moscow in Istanbul, Nando De Colo decided to take matters into his own hands.

It was the right call. The 2016 MVP hit a long-range two-point bucket just when the final buzzer sounded in “Ulker Arena” and CSKA emerged victorious 81 – 79.

De Colo finished with 13 points plus 8 assists while Andrey Vorontsevich scored a team-high 17, Kyle Hines 15 and Cory Higgins 15. The latter dropped 5 of his points in the last 100 seconds helping CSKA first get a 72 – 78 and then make it 75 – 79 following a 3-pointer by Fenerbahce‘s top scorer Nicolo Melli (18 points).

Brad Wanamaker brought his team closer from the line with 37 seconds remaining and Kostas Sloukas tied it after Dimitris Itoudis asked his players to foul in order to have the last possession. It was proven to be the correct choice since Nando drained the game-winning bucket.

“We draw the last ball to Nando De Colo and my players executed that play exactly. We played perfect last ball and Nando De Colo scored the ball as a special player,” Itoudis said on the last play.

CSKA Moscow is near locking the first place in the EuroLeague standings since this win improved their record to 21-5. Fenerbahce stands third with 18 – 8.
