Fenerbahce Dogus Istanbul prevailed over Maccabi Fox Tel Aviv with 87-73 on Day 27 of Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, ending the Israelis’ three-game winning streak.

Marko Guduric stepped up in this great victory for Fener with 23 points, five assists and three rebounds. This marks a new career-high performance in points scored for the Serbian guard (his previous one being with Crvena Zvezda, 21), while he also killed the visitors from the three-point line, tapping 5 out of 6 from afar.

Teamwork made dreamwork for the Turkish side, as Luigi Datome and Kostas Sloukas shared 16 and 12 points each.

Maccabi stepped into the game hungry for the road win, though the hosts soon took charge after the halftime break, as Guduric pushed his team’s advantage to 74-56 at the end of the third period.

This win brings the reigning champions one step closer to the homecourt advantage (the team has already earned its qualification to the playoffs). Maccabi now will have to finish the regular season with straight wins and hope for a Baskonia loss to remain in the playoffs picture.
