Giannis Sfairopoulos focused on Olympiacos‘ route so far this season and its willingness to fight against Zalgiris.

“You can’t change much within the course of days”, the Reds’ coach mentions. “Zalgiris is a respected opponent and we have to be focused to play our game”.

As for whether his team is more ‘experienced’, Sfairopoulos states: “It looks like it on paper, though when you step into the court, experience doesn’t count. We are experienced but in sports, an enthusiastic team can beat a more experienced one”.

Sarunas Jasikevicius mentioned that he would like to see the referees play a fair game and Sfairopoulos comments: “I’ve talked highly of Saras plenty of times”, he says. “He has really improved his team and might be a surprise to those who aren’t involved with coaching, but not for us coaches. Though I see that he uses some ‘old tricks’, since he’s a new coach”.
