While Pascual, like most coaches, is never satisfied, he said in his initial statement: “I want to say thanks to the supporters. Together we did an excellent job, this is a win for all of them. It’s difficult to say this, but we played a perfect game. For everyone who loves basketball, this was an amazing night. Of course, the score is only 1-0 and we have to continue”.
Pascual was asked if he is afraid that his team may relax after this win. His reply was sincere: “This is the point that we have to say the usual. Some coaches say that it’s not good to win like those, others that it’s better to win by one point. However, nothing from all this is right. We don’t have any reason to think that can’t do the same again. That should be our mentality. And we should be ready to react if the game is different. We should be positive and believe in what we are doing”.
Speaking of the game, Pascual explained: “It was just the circumstances, everything went right. Our defense was amazing, our offense was the same. We played against one of the best and most experienced teams in Europe. We were better this time, but we know that they will try to be better in the next game”.
When asked about the great performances of Mike James and Nick Calathes, Pascual added: “Every game is different and this time James and Calathes stepped up, but in the playoffs, we expect that also the rest of our team will step up”
