According to the Greek coach of Olympiacos: “First of all the way Zalgiris played defense, we should have shot 45 free throws. They push, they use their hands, especially away from the ball. I hope that the fact that mr. Jasikevicius talked about the refs will not affect the refs for Game 3, like he has achieved to do in Game 1″.

Speaking of the game, Sfairopoulos added: “It’s a very important win for us. After losing Game 1, this was even more difficult, but all the players gave their maximum effort and had a great motivation. They brought their soul on the court. After the first five minutes, we played great defense and controlled the game. Zalgiris scored 68 points while averages 81 points during the season. We expected them to react, they did it, but we were really concentrated in the fourth period and we deserved the win”.

Sfairopoulos also spoke about his players who competed despite their injury woes: “I want to congratulate for their self-sacrifice the players who were injured and played tonight (Bogris, Papanikolaou, Strelnieks, Printezis). They gave a great effort and they deserved all the credit. I also want to thank the fans for the way they supported us”.
