Luka Doncic’s journey to Real Madrid has been special. After declaring for the 2018 NBA Draft, every basketball fan is questioning how high can the 19-year old reach.
According to his coach Pablo Laso, no other player has accomplished what Doncic has at 18 years old. “I always demand that my players try to improve and become better. Luka can still play better. If I did not believe that he could be better, it would be a personal failure of mine. I hope that Luka can always play better and I demand that he does more things on the court. But, I have not seen anyone at 18 years accomplish what he has done. My job is to make him play better, but at 18, he has shown many things.”
After six seasons in Madrid, Luka Doncic will make a move to the United States to follow his NBA dream. As coach Laso remembers from the very first moment he stepped on Madrid he has been important for the team: “From the first day he played in Madrid, he has been important. And this was three years ago when he debuted with the team. The work they did with him in the youth teams when he was 13 years old made him the best possible player. I think he has grown in Real Madrid as a person and as a player. He has been crucial for Real Madrid.”
