Thanks to Jaycee Carroll’s clutch performance, Real Madrid got an 81 – 74 victory over Panathinaikos Superfoods Athens in Game 3 and lead the series 2-1.

The game was decided in the final minutes. Llull’s back-to-back three-pointers put Madrid up by seven (70-63) points. Panathinaikos, however, responded with a 0-7 run of its own as Calathes and James scored. With 1:12 on the clock, Jaycee Carroll scored a floater and a three-point dagger plus the foul to put Real up by five points. Finally, the visitors could not respond as James and Calathes missed a couple of critical shots.

Carroll finished the game with 17 points and did not miss a shot from the field (6/6 FG). Luka Doncic added seven points and ten rebounds, while Sergio Llull in his return finished with eight points.

For the losing side, Nick Calathes had a great night with 26 points.

The first half ended 40-34 with Luka Doncic’s poster dunk. In the early third period, Real went up ahead by 13 points (50-37) with a 10-3 run, but PAO answered right back (57-55).
