Vassilis Spanoulis commented on Olympiacos‘ elimination from the Final Four, giving props Zalgiris at the same time. “Unfortunately, we let ourselves and the fans down. Zalgiris is in excellent form and could have won over any team. ”
As for how he deals with the loss, he mentioned: “It’s a disappointment, but I’ve learned to be proud in my life. It’s really difficult for everyone. We have to pick up the broken pieces.”
Injury-plagued Olympiacos couldn’t outlast Zalgiris and Spanoulis acknowledged that: “Our team is like a hospital. There are players that take pills and receive injections in order to be able to play”.
