Dimitris Giannakopoulos issued a statement after Game 4 between Panathinaikos and Real Madrid in which he compares the EuroLeague with a dictatorship.

By Eurohoops team/ info@eurohoops.net

The statement is the following: “Congratulations to everyone for this European effort … From our coach to the last member of the team.

It is a shame to give an effort in a competition that does not allow you to win distinctions and trophies.

I promise to be loyal to the ideals of Panathinaikos, I will try with all my might for our team to compete in competitions governed by principles such as transparency, respect and justice.

The constant provocations, the lawlessness and the lack of respect for either the club or myself personally from the side of the current Euroleague managers do not make it such a competition. The dictatorships do not fit to Panathinaikos.

We have a job to do...”
