Pablo Laso and Real Madrid have been under the microscope during the season as injuries on one hand and Luka Doncic on the other made Madrid one of the teams to watch. And now at Belgrade, only good things can happen to them.

I got 100 messages on my phone when Llull went down in August“, admitted coach Laso while talking to Eurohoops, however the questions about the performance of his team were answered in the most positive way during the season.

The rest of the roster responded to the challenge and that’s why Laso is more than optimistic about the team’s chances in the Final Four: “The way we played all year through the injuries, only good things will come to us“.

Still, two knock out games are often standalone stories and don’t have much to do with the rest of the season. And coach Laso knows this pretty well: “In one game anything can happen, those are two finals coming up in the Final Four. For my the Final Four is CSKA Moscow“.

And while Real Madrid is always a Turkish Airlines EuroLeague contender, this year the presence of Luka Doncic and his possible NBA future was also one more major attraction for world media in the Spanish capital.

Will Belgrade be Doncic’s shining moment before leaving for the States? Should he stay one more season in Europe? “If Luka asks me I will tell him what I think“, joked Laso who is more than proud, like the rest of Real Madrid‘s organization for the amazing boy-wonder from Slovenia: “I don’t know what will happen in the future, but we are proud as an organization about Luka Doncic becoming a dominant player in Europe“.
