BELGRADE – Fenerbahce‘s coach Zeljko Obradovic, a coaching icon in Europe, was asked about the teenage prodigy and Zoc praised him and also Real Madrid for his growth as a player.
“Luka Doncic is a very smart player“, said Obradovic. “He is really lucky to be in an organization like Real Madrid and having a coach like Pablo Laso. Everything helped him to be in the level he is now. Congratulations to him and he has all the answers for his future”.
Coach Laso added when he was asked to compared Doncic’s 16 point performance to last year’s Final Four, where the Slovenian guard went scoreless in the semifinal: “The progress of Lucas is very normal. Last year, it was his first Final Four. He keeps growing as a player. Last year he was happy to be in the final four. Now he knows what’s going on. It’s something that’s very normal with Luka. Of course, he is more prepared. And we are talking about the experience of a 19 years old kid. That alone says a lot”.
Fenerbahce Dogus’ guard Kostas Sloukas who was asked how he will guard Doncic, said: “It’s a miracle how he is playing when I compare my 19 years old self to him. However, Real Madrid has a full roster, the best in the Euroleague and our problem is not only one player“.
