Jokingly, Tavares said that he made the free-throws because of his teammates, while also talked about this unique and unreal journey to the top.

BELGRADE – Real Madrid defeated Fenerbahce Dogus Istanbul and won the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague trophy, in a night where Luka Doncic made history.

Edy Tavares also had a solid impact in the final, with his eight points, five rebounds and two free-throws down the stretch. Real Madrid‘s center, jokingly admitted that if he would have missed the free-throws his teammates would have hit him:

“Who would have thought? Seven years ago, I was on a road in Cape Verde and I was bored while sitting under a tree. Seven years later, I’m here. It’s incredible. I made the two free-throws down the stretch because if I didn’t my teammates would have hit me. (laughs). I thought about it. It’s my first time and I will celebrate it.”
