On Sunday night Real Madrid wrote a history winning  “La Decima” as they beat Fenerbahce Dogus in the big final of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four in Belgrade. It was a bumpy ride for “Los Blancos” as their season was full of up and downs. Despite having too many injuries during the season Pablo Laso and his players found a way to be the best when it mattered the most.

After a successful weekend in Belgrade, Monday was reserved for the big celebration in the Spanish capital. Real Madrid celebrated their Euroleague title with its traditional visit to the City Council and the headquarters of the Community of Madrid.  The mayor of Madrid, Manuela Carmena, and the president of the Community of Madrid, Ángel Garrido welcomed the players and the staff while a lot of fans were on the streets celebrating.

Garrido was thrilled by Real Madrid‘s success as he had kind words for the team, but for coach Pablo Laso as well.

Real Madrid is a benchmark that identifies our region around the world and I think it has to do with the values that make up its DNA,” said Garrido, who praised the coach Pablo Laso for “knowing how to extract the best from players in sports and human”.

After it players went to the balcony from where they addressed the fans. Once again the potential first pick of the 2018 NBA Draft stole the show as the fans were crying “Luka stay” when he took the mic to speak to the fans.
