Maccabi Tel Aviv has been in negotiations with American-Italian power forward Angelo Caloiaro, according to Israeli website Walla. Caloiaro is targeted in order to replace Australian forward Jonah Bolden (expected to join the Philadelphia 76ers) in the roster of the “Yellows”.

If Maccabi strikes a deal with Caloiaro, then the player will become the second signing of the club ahead of the new season, following American guard Kendrick Ray.

Caloiaro, 28, finished the season in Turkey with Basketball Champions League club Banvit. He averaged 11.8 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists over 33 minutes per game in BCL, helping Banvit reach the quarterfinals.

In the 2017-2018 Turkish League, Caloiaro posted 12.8 points, 6 rebounds, and 1.4 assists, averaging 30 minutes per game.
