Gigi Datome and Kyle Hines at the head of the EuroLeague players association

The historic first ever general assembly of the EuroLeague players association was held today and two established players were voted as the heads of the union.

Fenerbahce forward and former Italian national team captain Gigi Datome and CSKA Moscow center Kyle Hines were voted as the president and the first vice-president of the newly founded EuroLeague players association.

The player’s board appointed Boki Nachbar as the managing director of ELPA and Nachbar appointed Anze Blazic as secretary general. Brazilian Marcelo Huertas, American Derrick Brown and Georgian Toko Shengelia were also elected as vice presidents on the board.

In total 13 representetatives of the 16 EuroLeague clubs were present in the first ever general assembly, however all 16 have voted. Pierre Oriola from Barcelona, Ognen Kuzmic from Real Madrid and and Egor Vyaltsev of Khimki had to leave prior to meeting due to personal reasons.
