Spanish veteran guard Albert Oliver renewed his contract with Gran Canaria for one more year, the club announced. It will be Oliver’s sixth season with the Spanish club.

With Gran Canaria EuroLeague bound for 2017-2018 for the first time in the history of the club, Oliver is also expected to make his career debut in the top-tier European competition.

It was a long time coming for 40-year-old Oliver that has played seven EuroCup seasons. In 117 EuroCup matches with Gran Canaria and Valencia, Oliver has averaged 6 points, 3.4 assists and 2 rebounds per game.

Oliver, who has also played for Estudiantes and Joventut Badalona, won the Spanish Supercup with Gran Canaria in 2017.
