Despite the initial optimism of Olympiacos after yesterday’s meeting with Ioannis Papapetrou, it seems that the player has not decided yet between the Reds and the possibility of playing for Panathinaikos.

Ioannis Papapetrou met with Olympiacos owner Aggelopoulos brothers on Friday and this was interpreted as a sign of an upcoming deal between the two sides.

At this point according to Eurohoops sources, Papapetrou has not decided yet to re-sign with the Reds, despite the fact that on a personal level his relationship with his rival for the starting small forward position, Kostas Papanikolaou, is excellent.

On the other hand, it’s only natural for Panathinaikos to be interested in a young, talented Greek free agent and in theory, if he signs with the Greens, he will be the starting small forward of the team, or at least that’s the plan of coach Xavi Pascual.

It’s a hard decision, not strictly related to money since both offers are expected to be similar and Papapetrou – whose side believe that he wasn’t used up to his true potential in Olympiacos so far – seems to be torn between the two Greek powerhouses.
