Khimki planned to keep Honeycutt (who had proposals from the Israeli club Maccabi and Greek club Panathinaikos) and offered him the most money, but the player didn’t want to go back to Russia per his mother.
When he asked Maccabi to improve their proposal, they canceled it. After a few days of thinking, his agent returned to Maccabi and told them that if they were to return the proposal Honeycutt would sign.
