Panathanaikos and Olympiacos should be the frontrunners if Papagiannis decides to come back to Europe.

It’s been a long journey for Greek center Georgios Papagiannis.

After two years with Panathainikos, he was the 16th pick in the 2016 NBA draft by the Suns who then traded him to the Kings.

According to Israeli news portal “Walla”, it is more likely that the Greek international returns to Europe this season despite his contract with the Portland Trail Blazers.

The report indicates that he will draw interest from both Greek powerhouses, Panathinaikos as his former team and Olympiacos with coach David Blatt now in charge in Piraeus.

More teams are expected to give “Big Papa” a call if he decides to return to Europe and that seems like the most likely scenario at the moment.

It’s worth noting that Panathinaikos inquired about Papagiannis before he signed a deal with Portland.
