Olympiacos announced the addition of Latvian forward Janis Timma. The player signed a two-year deal with the Greek club after parting ways with Baskonia following a one-year tenure with the latter.

Baskonia reached an agreement with Olympiacos regarding Timma’s contract and salary. Timma would be owed more than one million in 2018-2019 by Baskonia a sum which will be now covered mostly by Olympiacos with the Basques paying a small part of it.

Olympiacos head coach David Blatt wanted Timma on the roster of his new team despite the signing of swingman Axel Toupane earlier this week. Timma is expected to play not only at his natural position of a small forward but also take some minutes as a “4” in the lineups of his new squad.

Timma, 26, posted 7.6 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.3 assists, averaging 22 minutes per game in 33 EuroLeague matches, plus 7.8 points and 3 rebounds over 22 minutes per game in ACB, during 2017-2018.
