Johnny O’Bryant arrived in Tel Aviv and he is eager for the upcoming season, his first in Europe, as a member of Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv.

“When you look at the EuroLeague, it’s the second best league in the world and a place where really good NBA players have come from”, he said, explaining his decision. “And when Maccabi called, obviously it’s a really great franchise, and it was a no-brainer coming here and help this club win but also help myself get back to where I think I belong. I’m a really skilled player I didn’t get to really show it in the NBA, I can do passing and shooting, just bringing kinda an all-around big man to the team and a guy that can do a lot to help his team win”.

The new big man of Maccabi, however, admitted that he will need time to adapt: “A little bit. I talked to some guys and obviously the rules are different but for the most part, basketball is basketball. So I’m gonna do my best and work with the coaches and try to learn as quick as possible. It’s a historic club, people really respect Maccabi Tel Aviv Basketball, and for me, it’s an honor to really help the club win, my expectation is to try and win as many games as possible”.
