MVP Mike James leads Milano past Varese to win “Memorial Luciano Giani”

Mike James proved himself a leader once again helping Olimpia Milano win against Varese in the “Memorial Luciano Giani” Final.

Mike James recorded 19 points and ten assists leading Olimpia Milano to a 106-72 win against Varese in the Final of “Memorial Luciano Giani” tournament, winning the MVP award in the process.

Milano had full control of the game from the start creating a 21-point lead in the first quarter (33-12) and eventually going on the break with a 59-33 lead after James’ step-back buzzer from behind the arc.

The lead kept increasing after the halftime pause and the ‘nail in the coffin’ was another buzzer by James from half the court at the end of the third quarter for an 88-47 lead which Milano safely kept closing the game.

For the victors, Mindaugas Kuzminskas scored game-high 21 points in addition to Vladimir Micov’s 18 points while Amedeo Della Valle recorded nine points and assists shying close of a double-double.

On the other side, Matteo Tambone scored 15 while Thoms Scrubb helped with 12 points.
