Zalgiris Kaunas began its preseason games with a 95 – 60 blowout win over fellow Lithuanian League club Siauliai.
Brandon Davies scored a game-high 16 points in just 13 minutes while team captain Arturas Milaknis dropped 12 points. New Zalgiris additions Marius Grigonis and Thomas Walkup added 12 points apiece.
For Siauliai, only Evaldas Saulys finished in double figures with 13 points.
Zalgiris took a double-digit lead 28 – 18 after 10 minutes and kept extending its advantage as the game progressed. At the end of the third quarter, coach Sarunas Jasikevicius’ team went up 77 – 45 and then simply preserved this margin in the final period.
