Coach Pedro Martinez didn’t accept the explanation given to him about the incident that happened in Baskonia‘s last practice before the game against Zalgiris Kaunas, but according to the Lithuanian club and other league sources, the recording of part of the practice was a mistake made by the TV broadcasters.

The instant replay camera is not operated by the home team. When it was understood by the TV crew that the camera was recording, it was stopped and the video footage was erased.  The explanation which is given by league sources is the following: “Unfortunately, due to a mistake and contrary to league policies, a reduced number of cameras were on and therefore footage was being recorded. As soon as this was detected, footage was immediately erased. The issue is still being investigated but it is important to highlight that the local clubs, in this case, Zalgiris, neither do operate the cameras nor do get access to any footage these record”.
