It was 2014 when Olimpia Milano last defeated Olympiacos on the road. That was also the last time that the Italian team made the playoffs.

But this season’s Milano looks different. And definitely feels like “postseason material”.

Thanks to a stellar team performance, Milano routed the previously undefeated Olympiacos 99 – 75 and captured its second win in the 2018-2019 EuroLeague.

With Nemanja Nedovic scoring 18 out of his 20 points in the second half, the “Red Shoes” began to control the game from the mid of the third period and dominated the final quarter, while the hosts looked simply unable to contain their opponents’ action and show any significant reaction that could spark a comeback.

With the score 57  – 58, Milano had a 0 – 11 run to establish a double-digit lead and then keep increasing it in the remainder of the match. Olympiacos couldn’t become threatening,  falling victim to lackluster defense, plus poor percentages from the line (9/18) and beyond the arc (2/13).

Apart from Nedovic, who also grabbed four rebounds and dished out four assists, Mike James made damage to Olympiacos with 22 points plus five assists, while Vladimir Micov had 19 points, 13 of them in the first half.

Nikola Milutinov (15 points, ten rebounds), Giorgos Printezis (13 points, five rebounds), Sasha Vezenkov (12 points, four rebounds) and Vangelis Mantzaris (12 points) were the top contributors from Olympiacos that fell to 1-3.
