CSKA defeated Olympiacos, despite a great performance by Vasilis Spanoulis and Andrey Vatutin, the president of the “Army Team”, talked to TASS news agency about the significance of this win.

“If CSKA players are afraid of Spanoulis, then they can’t play in the EuroLeague. Spanoulis is not afraid to play in the Euroleague. The game turned out to be awesome, as it always happens with Olympiacos,” said Vatutin. “With all due respect to previous opponents, this was the first serious test of the Euroleague season, as we expected. The match turned out worthy of a “Final Four” contest and we won thanks to an excellent team effort. ”

Vatutin was content with the total contribution of all the players: “Thanks to the fans, thanks to the team. The guys who played a little – Misha Kulagin, Andrei Vorontsevich – came out and contributed. We didn’t talk about it before the match, but Nando De Colo couldn’t practice at all and today he couldn’t play (ed.note: De Colo was scoreless). We won a difficult game because at first nothing worked and to beat coach David Blatt is a positive sign”.
